This Training Process
The Find, Flush, Retrieve training process is an assemblage of contemporary procedures and drills that have been extensively field tested, and generally accepted, in the gundog training world.
This 336-page manual provides concise, detailed, and illustrated instructions on how to execute 345 procedures and drills. This is a complete state-of-the-art process for training gundogs.

This Manual
The purpose of this manual is to enable the novice gundog owner to train his or her dog to be an exceptional bird finder, flusher, and retriever. Successful training of this process will produce an extraordinary hunting companion and/or a competitive field trial dog.

Foundation, Fieldwork, and Maintenance Training Framework
Part One: Foundation Training
Foundation Training procedures and drills are designed to develop basic finding, flushing, and retrieving skills.
Part Two: Fieldwork Training
Fieldwork Training procedures and drills are designed to replicate hunting conditions and incorporate the foundation basics into the process of finding, flushing, and retrieving birds.
Part Three: Maintenance Training
Maintenance training is field quartering designed to hone your handling skills, modify any weak behaviors in the dog’s performance, and keep both of you tuned up for hunting season.

There is nothing more exciting than a pheasant exploding out of the grass, with the dog jumping to nip at the tail feathers, all at the end of a twenty-yard find. Kevin Noon has been hunting and training gundogs since 1979. He won his first sanctioned field trial in 2007 and continues to train gundogs, compete in trials, and hunt birds across the country.
His intent, with producing this manual, is to provide newcomers to the sport with a set of guidelines and a framework for training field dogs that will consistently provide memorable hunts.
